  • UCkids Coordinator


    The UCkids Coordinator is a temporary, part-time position (10–20 hours per week, including Sunday mornings). Some responsibilities may be completed remotely and with scheduling flexibility throughout the week, while other responsibilities will require time in the UC offices. Sunday morning availability is expected and less flexible.


    The primary responsibility of the UCkids Coordinator is to support the volunteers and weekly operations of the UCkids ministry, ensuring that volunteers are equipped, classrooms are prepared, and communication is consistent.


    Volunteer Scheduling & Communication

    • Schedule volunteers for all weekly UCkids ministry roles.
    • Learn and manage the scheduling software/app used by UCkids.
    • Communicate regularly with volunteers through email, text messages, and conversations to confirm weekly scheduling needs.
    • Serve as a consistent staff contact for UCkids volunteers.

    Classroom Support & Teaching

    • Be available to assist in classrooms as needed.
    • Fill in for teaching responsibilities when volunteers are unavailable, especially on Sunday mornings.

    Curriculum Preparation

    • Navigate the UCkids curriculum portal and follow the predetermined ministry calendar.
    • Communicate upcoming lessons, schedules, and classroom needs to volunteers.
    • Ensure curriculum materials are prepared and available for each classroom each week, including printing and organizing materials as needed.

    Classroom Supplies

    • Ensure classrooms remain stocked with necessary supplies, including snacks, prizes, paper goods, and teaching materials.

    Desired Qualities

    • Organized, dependable, and able to follow through on weekly responsibilities.
    • Strong communication and relational skills with both children and adult volunteers.
    • Comfortable working in a team environment and supporting volunteers with encouragement and flexibility.
    • Able to adapt quickly and problem-solve when needs change.
    • Comfortable using apps, email, and basic technology for scheduling and communication.
    • Supportive of the mission, values, and ministry culture of Union Center Christian Church.
    • A positive, welcoming presence who enjoys helping children and families feel seen and cared for.
  • Family Ministry Pastor


    The Family Ministry Pastor is a shepherding and oversight role that will work closely with the leadership community at UCCC, but will directly report to the senior pastor. This person will partner with the senior pastor, elders, deacons, council, and the other staff to oversee the spiritual formation pathway for individuals from birth to adulthood.


    The ideal candidate will help share the pastoral load with the senior pastor. This person should be able to think outside the box and cast vision clearly, but this person should also be able to see the vision through completion. The ideal candidate should be experienced at building teams. This person needs to be hospitable and people-oriented, with the ability to minister to a diversity of people (as described below). In order to fit into the culture of UCCC, the person should be familiar with emotional health, healthy and unhealthy church systems, ministry to groups often pushed to the margins (i.e., single parents, neurodivergent, women, Black and Brown people), and practices of spiritual formation.


    UCkids (Birth - 5th) (70%)

    • Foster an environment where families, children, and volunteers are being formed to engage with God, journey together, and spread hope. 
    • Build relationships with families, providing shepherding and soul care.
    • Equip, train, and shepherd volunteers to thrive in the roles needed to move the vision of UCkids ministry forward.
    • Ensure curriculum materials are provided and align with church vision.
    • Provide opportunities for connection for families and volunteers.

    UC Teens (6th-12th Grades) (10%)

    • Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to equip, train, and shepherd volunteers to oversee the student ministry of UCCC. 
    • Ensure curriculum materials align with church vision.
    • Support the UC Teens team to foster an environment in which families and students are being formed to engage with God, journey together, and spread hope.

    All Church Formation (10%)

    • Collaborate with staff to cultivate UCCC’s spiritual formation pathway from first-time attendance to membership and full engagement.
    • In collaboration with the Senior Pastor, oversee some aspects of the UCCC adult ministry and small group ministry. Including, some aspects of leadership development, coaching, and soul care for leaders.
    • In collaboration with the Senior Pastor, provide pastoral/soul care to members of the congregation, including spiritual direction and visitation.

    Teaching Team (5%)

    • Be a part of a one-hour, weekly preaching collective alongside others on the teaching team. 
    • Preach in the main service 4-6 times per year.

    Learning and Development (5%)

    • Monthly hermit day
    • Reading and other forms of learning (conferences, training, etc.)
    • Weekly staff and soul care meetings (including reading)
